Helsinki Marathon will be organized for the tird time on August 22, 2020. 9:00 Marathon, 1/2-marathon & Marathon Relay 12:00 10k 15.30 Kids Run Helsinki Park

Kids Run Helsinki Park (500 m / 1000 m)
Minimum age for participating the marathon or half marathon is 15 years old.

The event area at Helsinki Marathon is Meripuisto in Eira. Address: Crossroads of Merisatamanranta and Neitsytpolku, Helsinki.
The bib number is personal and it must be attached to the front of the running shirt visibly. In any case the bib number should not be folded.
BIB-numbers can be picked up from the race office. More information coming up closer to the event.
You will receive a text message and email of your own BIB-number latest on Thursday 20.8.2019. Please show that document for the staff. In the case you don’t receive the document, you will get your number and race-kit by your name. You can also pick up your friend’s race-kit.
Helsinki Marathon, 10k, half marathon and marathon relay will be run on urban streets of Helsinki. The course for 2020 will be updated, stay tuned!
Courses are officially measured according to the AIMS and IAAF standards. Therefore all the participants will receive officially recorded time. The course is also well marked and the kilometer signs are visible.
START AND FINISH LINE
The start and finish line are located in Meripuisto, Eira.
The runner at the first leg will start the race together with half marathon and marathon runners at 9.00am. Marathon relay includes four legs, and the exchange to the next runner will be done after a full lap. There are signs that direct relay runners to the exchange zone after the drinking station at Kompassitori. Team don’t need a baton, it is enough to touch hand or shoulder of the next runner. Each marathon relay team will get four bib numbers. In addition to the team’s number, each bib number also includes a leg number. It is highly important that legs will be run in the order of the leg numbers.

The bag drop is free for all Helsinki Marathon runners.You can leave your belongings in bag drop in the special bag you get when you pick up your bib-number. Remember to have the sticker of your number on the string of the bag. You get the bag only for showing your bib-number. Opening times on the race day: 7.00 am until 4.00 pm.

MAXIMUM RUNNING TIME
Helsinki Marathon, Marathon relay and half marathon has a maximum time of six (6) hours. 10 km has a maximum time of two (2) hours.

PHOTOS AND VIDEOS TAKING DURING THE EVENT
Event organizers will have full rights to publish the photos and video material taken during the event. We will also release pictures and videos in our social media channels.
KIDS RUN HELSINKI PARK
Kids Run Helsinki Park is a running event that is organized at Helsinki Marathon. Read more here and register here: www.kidsrunhelsinki.fi
At the finish all the marathon, marathon relay, half marathon and 10k runners will receive the Helsinki Marathon 2020 exclusive medal. Top three (men/women) and the winners of age series will be rewarded at marathon distance. Top three (men/women) will be rewarded at 10k and half marathon distance. Age series winners will receive their prize after the event in these series. The winner (men/women/mixed) will be rewarded at marathon relay. Any runner who is one of the top overall finishers in the marathon Open Category (Men/women) will be entitled to Prize Money. More information coming up.
The prize awards will be held close to the finish on the race day.
There will be hydration stations approximately every three kilometer on the marathon and half marathon course and two stations for the 10k runners. There will be at least water and sports drink available.
TIMING AND TIME CHIP
There will be chip timing at the Helsinki Marathon. Chip will be attached to race number. Each runner must draw the number on the front of the shirt and it must be displayed in the shirt throughout the running. The number should not be folded. You are only accepted to run with your own number. Running with another number is strictly prohibited. There is no need to return the chip after race. Every runner will receive gross and net times.
You can pay the entry fee by Visa, Mastercard or by Finnish online bank codes. We will also accept Finnish sport vouchers (Smartum, Eazybreak, Tyky, Virikesetelit, Ticket Duo, ePassi, Edenred and Virikesetelit) as payment method.
CANCELLING YOUR PARTICIPATION
No cancellations of participation are required. We will not refund your participation fees in any circumstances.
TRANSFER OF PARTICIPATION
It is possible to transfer your participation to
1. Next Helsinki Marathon
With a medical certificate transfer to the next year’s race is possible against a transfer fee of 5 EUR until 16.8.2020. After that transfer fee is 10 EUR. Transfer has to be made no later than 19.8.2020.
2. Another person
You can transfer your participation to another person (until 16.8.2020). After transfer request your registration will be cancelled, and you will get a discount code worth the same amount of money you paid for your registration, and that discount code can be used when new person will make a registration. If the registration fee is less than 5 € higher when the transfer request is made, then discount code will be 5 € less than the current registration fee.
Note: Registration paid with sport vouchers cannot be transferred to another person.
3. Another event
You can also transfer the entry for another #werunhelsinki event year 2020 until 21.8.2020. After transfer request your registration will be cancelled, and you will get a discount code worth the same amount of money you paid for your registration, and that discount code can be used when new person will make a registration. If the registration fee for the event in question is less than 5 € higher when the transfer request is made, then discount code will be 5 € less than the current registration fee.
How can I transfer my participation?
When transferring your participation to another event or person, or to next year, please contact info (a) helsinkihalfmarathon.fi with following information:
- Name of the original participant
- Name of the person who will make the new registration (if participation will be transferrer to another person)
- To which event trasfer will be made
After the transfer request you will get more detailed instructions by email.
The Helsinki Marathon, 1/2-marathon and the 10 k series based on the rules of Finnish Athletics Federation and IAAF are: Men General, Women General, and age groups 40, 45, 50 and 55 for both men and women. Runners are placed in the age series automatically regarding to their birth date. The general series includes all runners. Besides there are series for other-gender in all the distances. For Marathon Relay series are: Men, Women, and Open

The participants can only run with their own name and number. Running with a wrong name or number is prohibited. The Participant engages to follow the organizers’ rules and instructions on the day of the event.

INSURANCE AND RUNNER’S RESPONSIBILITY
Runners will participate at their own responsibility to the event, and the organizer has not taken insurance for any accidents or injuries caused by runners. Comprehensive insurance is recommended for participants. The first aid points will be located in the finish area and on the route.
First aid will be located in the finish line area and on the route. Emergency number is: 112. The number for the responsible person at first aid will be updated.
