All the runners born year 1994 or later are entitled to the youth discount (- 20 %). Use the code HMNUORISO to get the discount. The discount can’t be combined with another discount and is only available until 20.8.2019.
The event area at Helsinki Marathon is Meripuisto in Eira. Address: Crossroads of Merisatamanranta and Neitsytpolku, Helsinki.
The bib number is personal and it must be attached to the front of the running shirt visibly. In any case the bib number should not be folded.
BIB-numbers can be picked up one day before the race and on the race day morning from the race office:
Friday 23.8. Shopping mall Kamppi (Address: Urho Kekkosen katu 1, Helsinki. floor 2) between 12 pm and 8 pm
Saturday 24.8. Meripuisto, Eira (Address: Merisatamanranta + Neitsytpolku crossroads, Helsinki) between 7 am and 11.30 am
You will receive a text message and email of your own BIB-number latest on Thursday 22.8.2019. Please show that document for the staff. In the case you don’t receive the document, you will get your number and race-kit by your name. You can also pick up your friend’s race-kit.
Helsinki Marathon, 10k, half marathon and marathon relay will be run on urban streets of Helsinki. Route of 2019 will be found here! Routes are officially measured according to the AIMS and IAAF standards. Therefore all the participants will receive officially recorded time. The route is also well marked and the kilometer signs are visible.
START AND FINISH LINE
The start and finish line are located in Meripuisto, Eira.
First leg runner will start the race together with half marathon and marathon runners at 9.00am.
Marathon relay includes four legs, and the exchange to the next runner will be done after a full lap. There are signs that direct relay runners to the exchange zone after the drinking station at Kompassitori. Team don’t need a baton, it is enough to touch hand or shoulder of the next runner.
Each marathon relay team will get four bib numbers. In addition to the team’s number, each bib number also includes a leg number. It is highly important that legs will be run in the order of the leg numbers.
After Run will be held at BrewDog Helsinki after the Helsinki Marathon starting at 4 pm. Read more here!
The bag drop is free for all Helsinki Marathon runners.You can leave your belongings in bag drop in the special bag you get when you pick up your bib-number. Remember to have the sticker of your number on the string of the bag. You get the bag only for showing your bib-number. Opening times on the race day: 7.00 am until 4.00 pm.
The event expo area will be open on the race day 24th August between 7am and 4 pm. The event expo area can be found next to the start and finish line at Meripuisto, Eira. You will find our partners from the expo.
Helsinki Marathon official event shirt is Björn Borg’s technical t-shirt. All runners at marathon and marathon relay get their own shirt. 10k and half marathon runners can purchase their shirt when registering or when picking up their bib-number. You can also buy the shirt from race office on 23.8.-24.8., but there will be limited amount of shirts available. On the race day at 12.00 there will be some extra shirts for sale, if you missed your size.

MAXIMUM RUNNING TIME
Helsinki Marathon, Marathon relay and half marathon has a maximum time of six (6) hours. 10 km has a maximum time of two (2) hours.
There will be pacers at Helsinki Marathon, half marathon and at 10k.
We are providing pacers at least for the following finisher times:
Marathon: 3.30, 3.45, 4.00, 4.15, 4.30, 4.45, 5.00, 5.30, 6.00 and to the halfway: 3.00, 3.10-3.15, 3.20, 3.50, 4.20
Half marathon: 1.30,1.35, 1.40, 1.45, 1.50, 1.55, 2.00, 2.05, 2.10, 2.15, 2.20, 2.30, 2.45, 3.00
10k: 45.00, 50.00, 55.00, 60.00, 65.00, 70.00, 80.00, 100.00

A good way to prepare for the race day is to reload some carbs at Helsinki Marathon Pasta Party! The tickets in advance are 12 EUR and can be booked from the registration site. KIDS RUN HELSINKI PARK
Kids Run Helsinki Park is a running event that is organized at Helsinki Marathon.

Let’s keep Helsinki clean! Please throw all the trash and cups in the trash bins on the course. Kestävästi liikkeelle -project starts plogging on the course at 13.30 on the race day. You are very welcome to join for a little cool down. You will get bags and gloves from the event office.
At the finish all the marathon, marathon relay, half marathon and 10k runners will receive the Helsinki Marathon 2019 exclusive medal.
Top three (men/women) and the winners of age series will be rewarded at marathon distance.
Top three (men/women) will be rewarded at 10k and half marathon distance. Age series winners will receive their prize after the event in these series.
The winner (men/women/mixed) will be rewarded at marathon relay.
Any runner who is one of the top overall finishers in the marathon Open Category (Men/women) will be entitled to Prize Money (year 2019):

The amounts will be cut half, if the times are: Men 2.25:00 minutes or over/Women 2.40:00 minutes or over.

You can also bring your own hydration for the stations. In this case please bring your bottles clearly marked (km point and name) at the race office on Friday 23.8. between 12.00-18.00. The race office is located in Kamppi Shopping Mall and you will also get your BIB-number there.
TIMING AND TIME CHIP
There will be chip timing at the Helsinki Marathon. Chip will be attached to race number. Each runner must draw the number on the front of the shirt and it must be displayed in the shirt throughout the running. The number should not be folded. You are only accepted to run with your own number. Running with another number is strictly prohibited. There is no need to return the chip after race. Every runner will receive gross and net times.
You can pay the entry fee by Visa, Mastercard or by Finnish online bank codes. We will also accept Finnish sport vouchers (Smartum, Eazybreak, Tyky, Virikesetelit, Ticket Duo, ePassi, Edenred and Virikesetelit) as payment method.
CANCELLATION OF PARTICIPATION
No cancellations of participation are required. We will not refund your participation fees in any circumstances. With a medical certificate transfer to the next year is possible against a transfer fee of 5 EUR. In this case please send the medical document until 25th August: info (at) helsinkimarathon.fi. In other than medical reasons transfer is possible for another #werunhelsinki -event year 2019 by a 5 EUR transfer fee. In this case contact info (at) helsinkimarathon.fi latest 24.8.2019.
TRANSFER OF PARTICIPATION TO A NEW RUNNER
Until 21.8.2019: Participation can be transferred to another person until 21.8. at your own page . Click the “transfer” -button and you will receive a code that you give for the runner that will take your place at the event. This runner registers normally via registration site for the event and mentions the code, when they only pay the 5 € transfer fee. Transfer to another #werunhelsinki -event year 2019 by a 5 EUR transfer fee. In this case contact info (at) helsinkimarathon.fi
22.8.2019: No transfers.
23.8.-24.8.2019: Participation can be transferred to another person with 10 € transfer fee at the event office. See the opening hours at “Timetable”.
The Helsinki Marathon, 1/2-marathon and the 10 k series based on the rules of Finnish Athletics Federation and IAAF are: Men General, Women General, and age groups 40, 45, 50 and 55 for both men and women. Runners are placed in the age series automatically regarding to their birth date. The general series includes all runners. Besides there are series for other-gender in all the distances.

SHOWERS AND TOILETS
Toilets are available on the course and at the start and finish.
Showers are available on the race day between 10.30 am and 4 pm at Idealfit. Address: Jääkärinkatu 10, Helsinki (located about 800 meters from Helsinki Marathon start, marked with the signs)

The participants can only run with their own name and number. Running with a wrong name or number is prohibited. The Participant engages to follow the organizers’ rules and instructions on the day of the event.

INSURANCE AND RUNNER’S RESPONSIBILITY
Runners will participate at their own responsibility to the event, and the organizer has not taken insurance for any accidents or injuries caused by runners. Comprehensive insurance is recommended for participants. The first aid points will be located in the finish area and on the route.
